ABOUT US

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) offers the RN-BSN online, and the RN – MSN programs designed to assist nurses to achieve a bachelor's degree or an accelerated graduate degree in nursing.  If you are a RN, seeking an accessible, cost effective, and flexible program, or a graduate degree; then UIW is the program for you. 

Having the BSN degree will help you develop a deeper understanding of health care issues and will also prepare you for advanced positions in the nursing field. This program provides an educational opportunity for you as a working adult.  As part of the University's Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCaP, also known as the Alternate Pathway, courses are offered completely online and are offered in eight week terms.  

As a working adult, you will be able to complete six to nine hours of credit each eight week term.  Nursing cohorts are entered twice per year - Spring and Fall. Our program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Additionally UIW offers the Accelerated Masters degree (RN-MSN) for those registered nurses who want to get their Masters Degree in an accelerated curriculum.  This program is hybrid and offers courses online as well as in the traditionally classroom setting.  Classes held in the classroom are held in the evening on the main campus designed to accommodate the working adult.
